The Virginia Individual Development Accounts (VIDA) program is a financial education and matched savings program to assist working families with their first home purchase. Participants receive access to financial counselors, homebuyer education, and the opportunity to earn money towards a down payment and closing costs.

 

Are You Eligible?

 

To Qualify, Applicants Must:
  1. Be a US Citizen or legal resident and a Virginia resident
  2. Be at least 18 years of age
  3. Have earned income from employment or self-employment
  4. Have a minimum credit score of 580
  5. UWHCM will work with applicants to raise credit scores if needed
  6. HUD also provides housing counseling (UWHCM works with SERCAP in Roanoke)
  7. Household net worth of under $10,000
  8. Meet regional VIDA Income limits (all household income) - Henry County / Martinsville
